Guwahati: The Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IITG) has recorded strong placements in the current academic year with over 21 percent increase in applications during 2022-23 as compared to 2021-22.
IIT Guwahati has already received a total of 218 pre-placement offers (PPOs) this year as against 179 offers received in 2021-22, with a maximum placement offer of Rs 1.20 crore per year, it said in a statement.
The PPOs will continue to be created until the first phase of campus placements, which is scheduled for December 1, she said.
Congratulating the students, Director of IIT Guwahati TG Sitharam said that the PPOs made this year shows the hard work that the students have achieved.
IIT Guwahati has invited many companies to visit and participate in the recruitment of top people in the country, a statement issued by the institute said the director.
The press release said that the most effective activity is the intensive training program and pre-placement discussions organized by the career development center of IITG for the students.
“We have organized online portals to help students get ideas about agriculture and help them in their preparation. We have partnered with technical clubs to help students achieve the right study/course material for specific profiles which has resulted in an increase in PPOs this year, said Abhishek Kumar, Head of IIT Guwahati’s Center for Career Development.
