Guwahati (India), November 1: Contestants from all the districts of Assam appeared for the ‘Grand Assam 2022’ real beauty pageant which concluded at Rukminagar Auditorium in Guwahati on Tuesday, (October 25, 2022). It was a 4-day TV show based on a beauty pageant that included the Photo Round, Talent Round, Ramp Walk, Exclusive Interview, Q & A, Fitness Challenge, and the Grand Finale.
Competitors of different age groups participated in district events held in all the districts of Assam and the winner, 1st runner up, and 2nd runner up from each district participated in the Grand Finale and competed for the coveted title of Grand Assam in the main event. held in Guwahati. It may be noted that male winners of trophies, bundles and certificates received silver bracelets while female winners received silver crowns.
Organized by Fashion Wizards Grand Events a part of TYOPA (Youth Association of Arts), the show was hosted by Assam’s renowned Event Director, Model Coach, Talent Promoter, TYOPA President and Groom Studio Owner Raktim Kumar Das, and managing TYOPA Secretary and Fashion Designer Mrinalini Das. Others involved are Shahnawaz Aamir, Founder and Editor of Guwahati Times; Mrs Sarala Das, Classic Mrs India International Global Earth 2022; Dr Riti Kaushik, Dentist and Mrs India International Global Earth 2022; Geetali Gogoi, Yoga and Beauty Expert; Sasanka Deka, Photographer; Panchi Bora, Fashion Designer; Niva Devi, Fashion Designer; Kiran Boro, founder of Kiran Foundation, social entrepreneur; and Kushal Kalita, Mr universe 2022.
Also, the Grand Assam Award has been given to many eminent individuals who have taken great steps in their careers. Shyamkanu Mahanta who was also the guest of honor of the event was welcomed during the show, Chao Monuj Gogoi, Community and Youth Organizer; Mayuri Dutta, singer; and Dr. Hitesh Baruah, Doctor, was presented with awards.

This is one of its kind event and also the first to be telecasted on a news portal (Guwahati Times- https://guwahatitimes.com/), said the organizer, Raktim Kumar Das. “The main reason behind this show is to give the youth a proper platform to showcase their talent. There are no organizers who have come up with this kind of event, what is different about us is that instead of Both the district wise show and the finals, Mrinalini Das and I conducted the district wise shows and we competed in the finals. So, we can say that we tried our level best. We select the smartest contestants at the district level and give them another platform,” said Das.
Das added, “It has been a very long event, we started the district events a few months ago, now in the four days of Grand Assam finals we have the Grand Assam winners who competed in tough competition. Contestants have to go through various competitions like- Aptitude Round, Personal Interview Round, Question and Answer Round, etc.”
“The event was successful because of our team members including Abinash Saikia, Assistant Event Manager; Akash Paul, Makeup Consultant; Dhanraj Boro; Dharitri Dutta; Bristi Gogoi, Muskan Basfor, Coordinator; Fashion Designers- Panchi Bora, Riyan Kamal , and Niva Devi,” Das continued.
Notably, this is the seventh year of the big events of Fashion Wizards in the industry and the first season of Grand Assam.
