The conference is scheduled to be held on 20 and 21 November with the aim of highlighting the contribution of the North East in nation building and welcoming ‘Veer Naris’ and showcasing the culture of this region.
In a statement issued on Saturday, Defense PRO said: “This prestigious conference will be an opportunity to spread awareness about the role of the unsung heroes of the north-east in India’s independence struggle, the contribution of the armed forces. of India and other important departments of the government like North East Council (NEC), Border Roads Organization (BRO), Assam Rifles and Northeast Frontier Railways (NFR) towards the overall development of this region.”
He further added that this is the first time that such a special event is being conceived with the support of the state governments of Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Tripura, Mizoram, Manipur and Nagaland as well as State Cultural Councils. Northeast.
The program will include a seminar at the Assam College of Personnel Management, Guwahati, on November 20 in which the Chief Ministers of Assam, Manipur and Meghalaya, and eminent speakers from the Indian Army, NEC, NFR and civil society will be present. will present discussions on contemporary issues.
The heroic Veer Naris of the northeast will also be honored in a special function on the day at Narangi Military Base. Around 100 Veer Naris are expected to attend the first of its kind awareness programme.
A grand event will be organized at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium in Guwahati on November 21, which will include a display of weapons/equipment and adventure activities by the armed forces, musical performances, cultural performances from NER. , a special performance by local pop groups, an extravagant musical theater which will be followed by the first ever drone show in Guwahati.
