On Sunday, a woman was injured during a road rage shooting on Interstate 270 in Frederick County, Maryland, authorities said.

He was traveling alone on I-270 North near the Fingerboard Road exit around 7:45 p.m. when the incident occurred, according to a statement released by Maryland State Police.

The woman told police that the suspect first drove behind her and flashed her high beams. The driver then changed lanes, stopped their car next to hers, pointed a gun and fired at her car.

The woman’s name was not immediately released. She was later admitted to the hospital after being hit in the leg.

Police said she was driving a dark blue Jeep Wrangler at the time of the incident.

State police do not have a good description of the suspect or the car. They said the suspect continued driving north on I-270 after the shooting.

At the scene, police said they found evidence of multiple gunshots.

I-270 northbound lanes were closed Sunday between Exit 22 and Exit 25 during the investigation, police said.
