Suspect in Tuesday’s Laurel shooting arrested | Media Pyro

LAUREL, Miss. (WDAM) – A suspect wanted in connection with a shooting in Laurel on Tuesday was recently captured.

According to Laurel Police Chief Tommy Cox, 22-year-old Michael Pollock Jr. was reportedly apprehended Wednesday night on South 16th Avenue.

Pollock was wanted on a felony count of aggravated assault in connection with a shooting that left one person injured in Cameron Center.

According to LPD, officers responded to the center on Tuesday, Nov. 8 around 3 p.m. for reports of shots fired.

Officers found a man with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. He was transported by EMServ Ambulance Services to South Central Regional Medical Center for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

LPD said the incident was caused by an argument between acquaintances.

Captain Michael Reeves is the lead investigator on the case.
