Guwahati: Bollywood star Kangana Ranaut says that the shooting of her next film ‘Emergency’ will soon take place in Assam. Ranawat has been location hunting for the project since last week in various parts of the state including Kaziranga and Karbi Anglong.

Speaking to reporters at the airport, Ranaut said, “I have been to Assam many times. It is a beautiful place for shooting.”

I will be back soon with my entire crew for the shoot,” she added.

Considered to be the story of a watershed moment in India’s political history, “Emergency” is written and directed by Ranaut. She also plays former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in the upcoming film.

During his stay in Assam, the 35-year-old actor visited Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma on Saturday evening.

Sharma thanked the actor for choosing to shoot his film in the state.

“Delighted to see actor, writer and director Kangana Ranaut ji in my office today. I am happy that she is going to shoot one of her productions in Assam. I thanked her and assured her all help for her production,” the Chief Minister tweeted. .

“Emergency” will also star veteran actor Anupam Kher as revolutionary leader JP Narayanan, Shreyas Talpade as former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Field Marshal Sam Manekshai Milind Soman and writer-cultural activist Mahima Chaudhary as Pupul Jayakar.
