Miami-Dade County, Fla. – A Homestead man faces attempted murder after police say A man was shot Thursday outside a southwest Miami-Dade strip mall.

Officers responded to the shooting at the strip mall located near the corner of Quail Roost Drive and Southwest 114th Avenue in the county’s South Miami Heights area around 2 p.m.

According to a Miami-Dade Police arrest report, 28-year-old Devon D’Angelo Parker was involved in an argument with the victim and others at the scene.

As the argument continued, Parker got into the passenger seat of the white Lexus, police said.

Investigators wrote that the vehicle began to drive away but stopped suddenly.

The driver, who police have not identified, pulled out a gun and began shooting at the victim, and Parker simultaneously rolled down the window and began firing, police wrote, shooting at the victim and others.

“Several businesses and vehicles (were hit by projectiles),” the report said.

The boy, who was shot in the leg, went to Baptist Health Homestead Hospital for treatment, police said.

Parker, a two-time convicted felon on probation, is prohibited from carrying a gun around, police said.

Aside from the count of attempted murder, he faces three additional charges.
