IMPHAL, Nov 5 : Imphal Riding Polo Club (IRPC)-A, Lamhel will play Assam Rifles Polo Club (ARPC)-Keithelmanbi in the quarter finals of the 36th N Hazari and Dr N Tombi State Polo Tournament from Mapal Kangjeibung.
In the fifth pre-quarter match of the tournament, IRPC-A defeated Major Karan Polo Club-Kakwa 6-3 to secure qualification for the quarterfinals.
L Rohit, A Basanta and Leishamba Takhellambam all scored two goals each to help IRPC-A reach the quarter-finals today while H Pritam, Kh Rivaldo and N Sadananda scored a goal each for Major Karan Polo Club.
Meanwhile in the other pre-final match, Riyakat Ali scored three goals while L Joykumar scored twice to lead ARPC to a 7-3 win over Manipur Police Sports Club (MPSC)-C.
Kh Chandrakumar and Waji also scored a goal each for the winning side while M Jawan, S Abungcha and S Bimol found the target for MPSC-C.
Tomorrow in the last matches before the quarter finals, Tekcham Polo Club will play CRPF Polo Club in the first field while Lamhel Polo Club will play MPSC-B.
