MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – The Memphis Police Department responded to a shooting on Breedlove Street where three victims were shot.

MPD says witnesses said Bruce got into a fight with Cavius ​​Askew on Nov. 4 at a New Chicago park.

During the fight, she pulled a gun from her purse and opened fire, police said.

Askew was shot in the leg on the ground near a 2013 Nissan Altima. One-year-old Carly Wright was hit in the chest and was located in the back seat of the car, police said.

Another woman was grazing with a bullet in her right shoulder, MPD said.

Two other children were in the car during the shooting and were not injured, according to the affidavit.

Police say Bruce turned himself in within hours of the shooting.

Bruce confessed to shooting Askew but did not intend to shoot the baby, according to the affidavit.

Juanita Bruce, 19, is charged with first-degree murder, four counts of attempted first-degree murder and four other gun-related charges.
