Authorities are offering few details about the suspects involved in the shooting of a Belhaven delivery driver | Media Pyro

JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – One man has been denied bond and another has been granted bond in connection with the shooting death of a delivery driver in the Belhaven community.

“One minor did not get bond. The other got a $100,000 bond,” said Bailey Martin, spokeswoman for the Mississippi Department of Public Safety.

Martin did not say where the two were being held. Both are minors and adults. They did not say what charges the two face or in which court they first appeared.

Hinds County officials confirmed that neither is being held at the Henley Young Patton Juvenile Justice Center.

A third suspect was arrested in the case but later released “as they had no involvement in the crime”. “This is an open investigation; Will not comment further.

The suspects were taken into custody by Capitol Police. The arrest was made after officers noticed the vehicle believed to belong to them.

On November 2nd, there was a shooting in the Belhaven community. A food delivery driver was fatally shot on Linden Place at the intersection of Belvoir Place, south of Riverside Drive.

Witnesses told WLBT they heard a “horn honking,” a “shot fired” and “screaming.”

Corey Price, 39, later died at the University of Mississippi Medical Center.
