Government of Assam Khad 7 MoU with top MNCs; Efforts to Promote Renewable Energy, Skill Development, Tourism & Hospitality Sector | Media Pyro

Assam government today signed 7 Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with top Multinational Corporations (MNCs) at Janata Bhawan in Guwahati.

Referring to the “important occasion”, the Assam CM mentioned that the initiative will realize the dream of a developed Assam in accordance with the vision of the Honorable Prime Minister – Narendra Modi to transform the Northeast into a ‘New Growth Engine’ under the power of Atmanirbhar Bharat.

“These efforts will benefit the region’s potential in renewable energy, skill development, tourism and hospitality sector,” – said the CM.

According to reports, Assam Skill Development Mission (ASDM) has signed various agreements with Microsoft, Google, Larsen & Toubro, Healthcare Sector Skill Council (HSSC).

Also, MoUs were executed between Directorate of Employment & Technical Training (DECT) & Info Edge, known as Naukri.com.

Assam Tourism Development Corporation (ATDC) has entered into an agreement with Tata STRIVE; Assam Power Distribution Corporation Limited (APDCL) and SGEL – a subsidiary of Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam (SJVN).

To revamp the tourism and hospitality sector in Assam, Assam Tourism Development Corporation Limited (ATDCL), Indian Hotels Company Limited, Tata STRIVE’s Skill Development Initiative of Tata Community Initiative Trust (TCIT), Ministry of Skill Development & Enterprise (MSDE) agreed to put in concerted efforts to build a state-of-the-art environmental training center at the Omeo Kumar Das Institute of Social Change & Development (OKD Institute) in the vicinity of Guwahati.

In this regard, the MoU was signed in the presence of Assam CM – Himanta Biswa Sarma and State Tourism Minister – Jayanta Malla Baruah.

The partnership aims to develop job-related skills training in many areas of the hospitality sector.

Meanwhile, the state government has also signed an MoU with Google to support and accelerate the Assam Government’s mission to promote digital growth and development in the state.

With this new initiative, Google will aim to strengthen school digitization efforts by adding new digital learning tools and solutions to support teaching and learning.

Google will also provide scholarships for Google Skill Certificates to the youth of Assam in collaboration with Assam Skill Development Mission (ASDM). It will also include training on making the youth job ready for the digital market.

According to the MoU, Google will help empower schools with digital education through Google for Education collaboration tools.

The program will support qualified applicants to pursue Google Professional Certificates in high-demand areas such as IT Support, IT Automation, Project Management, Data Analytics, UX Design, Digital Marketing & eCommerce.
