The media and the Left keep telling the story that voter fraud doesn’t exist. If they agree that electoral crimes will occur, they say that they will happen on a small scale and will not affect the results of the election.
For example, when Gov. Ron DeSantis announced the first 20 arrests from his task force for voting crimes, he met with accusations that this type of voter fraud is rare. Michael McDonald, a professor of political science at the University of Florida and an “election expert,” told the Washington Post, “These arrests do not affect the integrity of the election system.”
It’s the same old argument that’s heard every time election crimes are discovered.
Now, we have data to refute this old, tired argument.
The Public Interest Legal Foundation (PILF) launched a new tool for elections that ended in ties or were decided by less than 30 votes. So far, we have found 516 US elections that ended in relationships.
In these races, one tricky vote can make a difference. We can all agree that we don’t need a vote of law or error to determine the winner of an election.
States have different rules for partnerships. In many countries, limited elections are decided by lottery. Only chance determines the winner.
One of these tie races decided by lottery will determine which political party will control the Virginia House of Delegates. Imagine the control of your government building being decided by drawing names out of a hat. But, Virginians don’t mind.
These close contests show that single votes matter. Election Process is very important in the election process. One constitutional vote can change the outcome of an entire race.
In addition, PILF found 131 votes decided by less than 30 votes. There are many other consequences of voting and closing. We will continue to update our list as more links and polls close.
Relationships and closed polls happen often without people knowing about them. This is why governments should pay attention to the integrity of the election.
Election officials must ensure that their state’s voter rolls are accurate and complete. This includes removing duplicate voter registrations, people who have died, and people who have moved. Unfortunately, many states do not maintain accurate voter rolls as required by state law.
In 2020, a report analyzing the voter lists of 42 countries found about 350,000 dead registrations and about 38,000 duplicate registrations on the voter list. This is a major vulnerability in our elections.
Accurate electoral rolls are important to the integrity of the election because they tell election officials who are eligible to vote. Most importantly in states with automatic ballots by mail ballots are automatically sent to everyone on the voter list.
States must also ensure that they do not allow foreigners on their electoral rolls. PILF has uncovered records showing foreigners on the electoral roll in North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Virginia, New Jersey, Georgia and California. Every foreigner on the voter list is an opportunity for an illegal vote.
The point is that every vote counts. One vote can change the entire outcome of the election.
If you ever thought your vote didn’t matter, remember these limited votes. Your vote is important and has an impact.
