Guwahati: Karimganj district police seized 676 grams of suspected heroin hidden in soap cases on Monday.
According to sources, the shipment was received on the basis of certain specifications.
The police seized a vehicle similar to the clue at the scene, and when they checked it, the police team found 676 grams of heroin filled with 52 cases of soap.

The shipment was hidden inside the trunk of the car.
The contraband was packed with baby wipes and shipped in those conditions.

The estimated cost has not yet been released and an investigation has been launched.
It may be noted that most of the contraband in the region is imported from neighboring countries.
