Guwahati: The Asimada government has taken action against more than 1,200 traders in Uria recently, after failing to comply with the laws to fertilize the government and reserves, the Minister of Agriculture. Atul Bora said on Monday.
The administration is keeping a close eye on urea traders after it was alleged that some of them have created a black market and created an artificial shortage, said Bora.
He said that an investigation has been conducted into several such allegations.
From our investigation, we found that many of the urea traders have not taken their share from the government distribution center, while others who already had their share continue to collect their quota. said Bora in a press conference.
These traders who are stockists of urine material are trying to change the market price, he said.
Boora said that the licenses of three wholesalers and 1,272 retailers have been suspended, following the discovery of such irregularities in the handling and storage of fertilizers in recent times.
The minister also said that the connection between the department, traders and farmers will be accelerated, to ensure that there is no artificial increase in the price of management in the region.

He said that when the traders put in the mandatory materials in the place of sale, the management is monitoring the situation better.
The Assam Cabinet in May decided to establish a standard operating procedure for the distribution of fertilizers, especially urea, a controlled substance under the Essential Commodities Act, 1956, to prevent dumping and black marketing.
