MEIGS COUNTY, Ohio (WSAZ) – A third man charged in the Easter Sunday 2001 shooting death of a man has pleaded guilty in Meigs County Common Pleas Court.

Richard Walker Jr., 21, of South Charleston, West Virginia, pleaded guilty to conspiracy and theft, court records show.

Walker is the third person charged in connection with the April 4, 2021, shooting death of Kane Roush, 25, on Legion Terrace Road in Meigs County.

Roush was a well-known athlete from Mason County, West Virginia, who helped bring home its first state title to Wahama High School in 2012.

Two other men, Keontay Nelson and Jaquan Hall, both in their early 20s, were convicted of murder earlier this year after a jury trial.

Walker’s sentencing is scheduled for Monday, Nov. 14, according to court records.
