Four people were injured in a shooting and stabbing near a Target store in downtown LA Tuesday evening.
7th St. in downtown LA around 6:22 p.m. And Figueroa, authorities said there was a shooting.
When police arrived they found two people with stab wounds, one with a gunshot wound and one with a gunshot wound.
According to Capt. Elaine Morales of the LAPD Central Division, both stabbing victims are in critical condition.
One of the victims was a 9-year-old boy and the second was a 25-year-old woman.
According to police, security guards shot the stabbing victim before LAPD officers arrived on the scene.
He was taken into custody and later died. It is not known who the person is.
The man, who walked into the Target store, grabbed a knife from a shelf at home and went to the cashier area, where he began stabbing people, Morales said.
Police are still investigating the motive for the stabbing.
No further information was immediately available.
