Guwahati: The record of the combined election draft for the special summary review of all 126 Constituencies of the Assam Legislative Assembly was published on Wednesday.
“The number of voters in the electoral roll is 2,38,81,196, of which 1,20,26,588 are men and 1,18,54,608 are women. The total number of voters in the last published electoral roll was 2,37,10,834. There is an overall increase of 0.77 percent in voters,” Assam chief election Nitin Khade said.
The gender ratio of the state’s population is 958 while the overall gender ratio of voters in the state is 986.
The percentage of voters in the state as on November 9, 2022, is 632. Photo coverage in the electoral roll as on November 9, 2022, is 99.59 percent and EPIC (Photographic Identity Card) in the electoral roll is 99.99 percent,” said the Chief Electoral Officer. .
The period for filing claims and objections is November 9 through December 8, 2022. The filing of claims and objections will be completed by December 26, 2022.
The final publication of the photo selection list will be on January 5, 2023.
Earlier in the day, the Chief Electoral Officer flagged off a circular rally with the slogan “Participatory Elections” from Dispur secretariat ground.

The procession covered the road from Dispur to Bhangagarh, Bhangagarh to Khanapara and finally from Khanapara to the starting point of Dispur.
Around 400 cyclists from all walks of life participated in the rally.
Before addressing the rally, Khade stressed the importance of the unique summary review and the importance of participatory and inclusive elections.
A theme song for “Special Brief Review-2023” was also unveiled at the event.
Later in the day, the Chief Electoral Officer also participated in a special session called “Chunav Pathshala”, which is a forum for the discussion of community members, through interesting activities and hands-on experience to make them aware of their right to vote and learn about the electoral process of registration and voting.

The session was held at polling stations 132, 133, 134 and 135 (all located in Kendriya Vidyalaya Khanapara) under 52 Dispur Assembly Constituency of Kamrup City Constituency.
Notably, the Election Commission of India has introduced four qualifying dates from the current Special Summary Review. The four eligibility dates are January 1, 2023, April 1, 2023, July 1, 2023, and October 1, 2023.
Prospective voters over the age of 17 will be able to apply early to register their names on the electoral roll from November 9, 2022.
