As you know, information that can be released in an open investigation is limited, but Captain Rivera informed me that SPD will release updates when they can and that the follow-up unit is still working on the case and looking for evidence.
The SPD had already deployed heavy patrols across the area. Because emphasis depends on assigning patrol officers to overtime, the ability to assign emphasis can limit capacity when officers have high priorities in overtime.

November 2020 Shooting: 35 years old Garrett Heineman Alki was charged with assault after allegedly shooting a neighbor who was running down an alley. The victim escaped; The motive was a mystery. Heineman, who has no criminal record, remains in the King County Jail awaiting trial with a status hearing next week.
February 2020 Double Shooting: An acquaintance of the two victims claimed the shooting was an attempted robbery, but security video from an Alki business shows what really happened. 23 years old Alan Halley Marysville pleaded guilty earlier this year and was sentenced to 7 years and 9 months in prison, credit for the two years he’s already spent behind bars, as reported here . Hawley had a previous conviction for burglary as a teenager.
