The recent shooting comes a day after another shooting in Camps Bay that claimed two lives.

CAPE TOWN – Four people were injured after two people were shot on Prince George Drive in Steenberg, Cape Town on Thursday.

The shooting comes a day after a shooting in Camps Bay that claimed two lives.

Police said the motive behind Thursday’s fatal shooting was unknown and under investigation, but that it was suspected to be gang-related.

Western Cape Police’s Fredrik van Wyk said: “Crime experts are on the scene and scouring the area for clues. Steenberg police are investigating a double homicide and four counts of attempted murder following the fatal shooting.

JP Smith of Cape Town City said the shooting appeared to be taxi-related violence.

“It appears to be an attempt by a taxi association to face competition on their routes. “We have some associations that have started working illegally on other people’s routes and this is the fastest way to start taxi violence,” he said.

Meanwhile, police said they were still hunting the gunmen responsible for Wednesday’s shooting in Camps Bay.
