Breaking News: Two people were hospitalized after a shooting at a Hackensack barber shop Saturday evening, authorities confirmed.
City Police Director Raymond Guidetti confirmed that one person was attacked and another was grazed at Minietti Barbershop at the corner of Lehigh and Essex streets.
He said police were also investigating a report of a second shooting nearby. It was not immediately clear if anyone was injured.
The barber shop victims were taken to Hackensack University Medical Center.
Both were taken to the trauma unit with serious injuries, but their conditions could not be immediately determined, responders said.
Meanwhile, the police gathered at the spot.
They were looking into witness statements that the barber shop shooter wore all black, including a ski mask, and drove down Lehigh Street in a black SUV, among other reports.
More information is expected by Saturday evening.
