Three people were injured Friday night in a shooting outside a high school football game in Toledo, Ohio, police said.

Two seniors and a student were taken to local hospitals after being shot at Whitmer High School during the final quarter of a game against Central Catholic High School, Toledo police said in a press release.

“Last night was a terrible and traumatic event,” Toledo Police Chief George Krall, Toledo Mayor Wade Kapzukiewicz and Washington Local Schools Superintendent Cady Anstad said in a statement. “What we can thankfully say about what happened at the Whitmer/Central Catholic football game is this: All 3 victims suffered minor injuries and will be fine.”

There are no suspects in custody yet, but surveillance video helped identify a potential target, according to the press release.

“We still don’t know a lot about the events of last night, but we do know this — what happened in our city was unacceptable,” Krall, Kapsukiewicz and Anstad said. “Everyone should be able to enjoy a Friday night football game without fear for their safety.”
