Suspect charged in fatal quadruple shooting in East Memphis | Media Pyro

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – A suspect in a weekend shooting in East Memphis that left one person dead and three others injured is in police custody.

The Memphis Police Department says 18-year-old Peter Vaca has been charged with one count of first-degree murder and three counts of criminal first-degree attempted murder.

The shooting happened outside a smoke shop on Park Avenue around 2:13 a.m. Sunday.

According to the affidavit, he drove into the parking lot with four other men and two women in a red Dodge Durango and opened fire on a group of men standing outside.

Investigators say four people in the parking lot opened fire, but all were hit.

One person was pronounced dead at the hospital and three others were listed in critical condition. They reached the hospital in a private vehicle, MPD said.

Vaca’s bond is currently set at $500,000.
