Clear recent routes and favorites on Maps
The last routes you’ve used are saved in Apple Maps so you can easily find them later. You can also save addresses like home, work or your favorite coffee shop to your favorites list.
But there are many reasons not to save your browsing history. Maybe you don’t want anyone to see where you’ve been, or you have too many requests and destinations on your list.
In any case, there is an easy way to delete history in Apple Maps.

How to clear Apple Maps history on iPhone and iPad
Apple offers several different ways to clear recent routes on Maps. Here’s the easiest way:
- Open Apple Mapsthen scroll down until you see The last ones section.
- Swipe the route you want to remove from Apple Maps to the left until you see Remove.
- touch Remove.
- If you want to delete a favorite place, go to selected section, then tap more. Swipe left on favourite location you want to delete, then tap Delete.
This is it. Now the places you don’t want to show in Apple Maps are gone.
How to clear Maps history on Mac
- Open it Apple Maps on your Mac, then go to The last ones on the sidebar.
- Lower The last onespress Clear the last ones.
- If you want to delete the selected location, click Ctrl + click location (in the sidebar under Favorites), and then select Remove from favorites.
