Philadelphia (WPVI) — Philadelphia police have released images of a vehicle wanted in connection with the shooting deaths of nine people in the city’s Kensington section over the weekend.

Investigators said it happened near the intersection of Kensington and Allegheny avenues around 10:45 p.m. Saturday.

Police said multiple shooters exited a black vehicle and fired at least 40 rounds, striking nine people.

Eight men and one woman aged between 23 and 40 were killed.

“One person is intubated, the rest are stable and some have been released,” Deputy Commissioner Frank Vanor said Monday morning.

Police have released images of the dark-colored 2003-07 Honda Accord sedan they say was used in the shooting.

Police believe the same vehicle was used in an Oct. 7 shooting in the 3100 block of Kensington Avenue that left one person injured.

According to investigators, the wanted vehicle has blue aftermarket headlights and tinted windows.

Investigators are trying to determine a motive for the shooting.

“At this point, it appears these individuals saw someone they wanted to shoot and exited the vehicle and began firing at a group of individuals,” said First Deputy Commissioner John Stanford of the Philadelphia Police Department.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 215-686-TIPS.
