The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation said it is assisting Seminole County deputies with a homicide investigation.

The Seminole County Sheriff’s Office said it received a 911 call about a shooting between the towns of Sasquah and Wewoka in a rural part of the county.

When deputies arrived, they found two people who had been shot, officials said. Russell Bolen, 33, was shot and killed. The second person who was shot, 52-year-old Robert Waters, was taken to the hospital.

A third man, identified as 46-year-old Daniel Sisco, said Bolen and Waters pointed weapons at him. Cisco told authorities he fired his weapon at two people.

Seminole County Sheriff Shannon Smith requested the OSBI’s assistance in the investigation Sunday after 8 p.m.

The OSBI said it will forward its investigation report to the Seminole County District Attorney’s Office if any complaints or charges are filed.

The state medical examiner’s office will determine Bolen’s cause of death.
