Dayton – Update: 1:15 pm
A man was hospitalized after a shooting in Dayton Tuesday evening.
Officers were dispatched just after 845 to the 1200 block of Lawrence Dunbar Street in South Pole, and upon arrival, officers found a victim suffering from at least one gunshot wound, a police department spokeswoman said.

The victim was taken to Miami Valley Hospital in stable condition.
Officers were able to quickly secure the suspect, who was arrested on aggravated assault and unrelated charges, the spokesman said.
Violent Offenders Unit detectives will meet with the prosecutor’s office to consider charges against the suspect.

At approximately 8:55 p.m., crews were called to the 1200 block of Lawrence Dunbar Street in South Pole for a report of a shooting.
Montgomery County Dispatch confirmed the crew was on the scene, but no further information was available.
