The man has been identified as Nawaj Khan, 21, son of Abdul Jaynal of Kwakta village in Bishnupur district of Manipur.
The police have stepped up vigilance at Khatkhati and Dillai District Checkpoints in Karbi Anglong to check the smuggling of drugs and other goods imported from Nagaland into Assam, forcing the smugglers to adopt new tactics. the region.
