Elon Musk says Twitter has legal claim against ‘leftist activist groups’ for blocking ads | Media Pyro


Elon Musk said Monday that Twitter has reason to take legal action against the rights groups that pushed the ad publisher after its $44 billion deal to buy the social media platform.

Tom Fitton, president of the Defense Intelligence Agency, asked on Twitter if “Musk makes malicious claims against leftist groups that are bothering the media.”

“We’re working,” Musk replied.

Several nonprofits and military groups sent an open letter last week to the executives of major advertising brands on Twitter, urging them to stop all advertising if “Musk follows through on his plans.” to breach the security of the brand.”

“We understand that brand safety is of utmost importance to you,” the parties wrote in the letter. “Because of this, you have a moral and social obligation to stand up to the decline of one of the most influential social media platforms in the world, and keep Musk to his promise to you to ensure that Twitter it’s a welcoming place and a human place. for everyone.”


Musk blamed those groups and others for the “significant drop in revenue” that Twitter has suffered since its acquisition, though he says that “nothing has changed and the content has been adjusted.”

“We did everything we could to appease fans,” Musk tweeted Friday. “There’s a real problem! They’re trying to destroy free speech in America.”

Several companies have temporarily taken a hiatus from Twitter following Musk’s purchase, including General Motors, Volkswagen’s Audi, and General Mills.

That’s $1.08 billion from Twitter’s total revenue of $1.18 billion in the second quarter of 2022.
