Internet privacy champion launches new program on BugCrowd

November 10, 2022, Bucharest, Romania: Providing a secure VPN service is critical to maintaining online privacy, and in recognition of this, online privacy advocates and VPN provider CyberGhost have launched a new public bug bounty on BugCrowd.

CyberGhost invites anyone acting in good faith to report vulnerabilities, including independent security researchers, industry partners, vendors, customers and consultants. CyberGhost offers up to $1,250 for each verified bug found within the program, depending on the severity of the submission.

“As our digital world evolves, online privacy has never been more important. By continually evaluating the security of our services through activities such as our bug bounty program, we can give our customers confidence that they are using a safe and reliable VPN service. The launch of our bug bounty program is a significant step in providing a world-class secure service to our customers, and we look forward to continuing to work with the wider security community,” commented CyberGhost spokesperson Timo Biel.

CyberGhost’s bug bounty program alongside existing vulnerability detection programs. All aspects of CyberGhost’s infrastructure and applications are included in the program, including server architecture, platform and mobile applications, as well as website presence.

The Bug Bounty Program uses BugCrowd’s Vulnerability Rating Taxonomy to determine the criticality of discovered bugs. Accordingly, CyberGhost will offer different reward levels based on different levels of technical seriousness.
