Booz Allen Legal Unit Achieves Workforce Diversity Certification; Josh Petty said | Media Pyro

Booz Allen Hamilton has completed Mansfield Law: Legal Department Edition 2.0, a program for empowering companies that embrace diversity in the workforce.

The company said Monday that its legal department has worked for two years to obtain the MRLD 2.0 certification, which was created and is being monitored by the incubator firm Diversity Lab.

The lab established the Mansfield Act in 2016 to encourage law firms to fill 30 percent of their workforce with women and minorities. The new version of the law requires the implementation of internal and external recruitment and monitoring procedures to ensure the satisfaction of the applicant pool.

The Booz Allen team joins 40 other law firms that have received MRLD 2.0 certification this year.

“Participating in MRLD 2.0 has helped our legal department build and elevate our diverse talent pipeline across all levels,” said Josh Petty, general counsel for Booz Allen. “Representation is important, and we are happy to demonstrate our commitment to that through our MRLD 2.0 certification.”
