Assam to strengthen training programs among police brigades | Media Pyro

Assam Government on Wednesday decided to strengthen training programs in Police Brigades, 34 retired Army personnel will be appointed/commissioned as Additional Inspectors of Police (Training) in all Brigades on contract basis.

In the cabinet meeting it was decided that the officers should be under special DIG (Training) to achieve the important objectives.

The cabinet has approved 7 projects and utilization of reserve fund of R56.76 crores, including AEGCL out of Trade Development Fund (TDF) to complete 3 ongoing projects under the plan. It will improve the power profile in South Salmara, Barpeta and Bongaigaon districts and will benefit about 30 lakh consumers.

The Cabinet has approved the implementation of Smart Metering in APDCL under the Reformed Distribution Scheme. Project to be completed by 31 March 2025 Estimated cost: Rs 4,536.79 crore, Smart Meters to be installed: 58 lakhs in 3 years.

The Cabinet said that APDCL’s target for AT&C Iosses has been reduced from 18.5% (2020-21) to 13.5% by 2024-25. Smart meters for Transformers and Feeders to get a complete energy audit to identify areas of loss Create adequate employment opportunities.

APDCL shall install and operate the Smart Meters along with the existing traditional meters for at least 30 days to analyze the difference between the readings of the two systems.
