Agartala, November 08, 2022: The Radhanagar Battalion of the 21st Assam Rifles Division of Tripura under the Inspector General Assam Rifles (East) organized a one-day specialized medical camp for BRU refugees in Ultachehra area of under Dhalai District on Tuesday. .

The commander and chief medical officer of the Radhanagar brigade inaugurated this medical camp. The camp was organized in collaboration with the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Dhali District, Government of Tripura and Prohaba, a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO).

552 BRU refugees were tested and given free counseling along with free medicines during the camp while 10 people were tested for HIV and all the results were negative.

The aim of the camp was to provide free medicine, medical advice and referral for specialized treatment or surgery if necessary. Doctors also conducted basic medical examinations for all refugees.

The head of the rehabilitation center and all the refugees thanked the Assam Rifles for their tireless participation in the rehabilitation of BRU refugees.
