The Assam Legislative Assembly Secretariat has asked the employees to attend the office on all working days in Official Dress only.

The order of the general secretary of the state assembly said that “All employees should come to the office on all working days wearing only Official Dress (Salwar Suit/Saree/Mekhela-Chador, Formal Shirt and not Casual Dress like T-shirt, Jeans) ). Legs etc). However, the traditional dress of every community in Assam is to be worn every Wednesday as desired by the worker.”

The order added, “All employees irrespective of rank shall wear the uniform of the Office to be prescribed and issued by this Secretariat compulsorily during the Assembly Sessions and other official functions/programmes of the Assam Legislative Assembly. as and when decided by the competent authority.

Any employee, who fails to comply with the above instructions, will be subject to strict action. In addition, any employee who fails to meet the required hours of work will be subject to deductions from their monthly wages.

The order states that in view of smooth and efficient functioning of the Secretariat of the Assam Legislative Assembly and as per the instructions of the Speaker, Assam Legislative Assembly, the following instructions shall be strictly followed by all the employees of this Secretariat and there are employees working on daily wage/fixed wage/monthly honorarium basis with immediate effect.

The order said, “All employees as mentioned above must come to the office at 09:30 AM promptly and must attend the biometric attendance system and leave only after working hours when they leave the office. However, the office hours depend on the official work and the employees have to perform tasks beyond the official working hours as the need and urgency of the work from time to time.
