Back in May, Acer launched the latest version of its popular thin-and-light Swift 3 laptop, with some pretty big hardware changes. However, it definitely took a while for it to reach our shores, as Acer has just now brought the Swift 3 OLED in Malaysia.

Acer Swift 3 OLED Malaysia pricing and availability

The Acer Swift 3 OLED is already available for purchase in Malaysia from the Acer eStore as well as its official store on Shopee and Lazada. Available in two models, here’s how much the Swift 3 OLED will cost:

  • Swift 3 OLED, Intel Core i5-12500H, 8GB RAM, 512GB SSD – RM4,399
  • Swift 3 OLED, Intel Core i7-12700H, 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD – RM5,399

All in all, they look like they’ll be able to go toe-to-toe against Asus’s Zenbook 14 OLED, which starts at RM4,799 for the base model with Intel Core i5-1240P and the top model packs Intel Core i7-1260P for RM5,699. While the Zenbook 14 OLED may have some weaker processors on paper, however, the Swift 3 OLED’s H-series chip may be trading some battery life for more performance.

Acer Swift 3 OLED specifications

Of course, the Acer Swift 3’s biggest hardware upgrade is a 14-inch, WQXGA+ (2880 x 1800p) OLED display with a 92% screen-to-body ratio. It also pushes a 90Hz refresh rate, has a sub-0.2ms response time and a peak brightness of 500nits too. The display covers 100% of the DCI-P3 color gamut and is also VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500-certified. Meanwhile the entire chassis is built from aluminium, and weighs just 1.4kg and is 17.9mm thin. Meanwhile the touchpad is made from plastic waste which is also bound for the ocean.

Acer also introduced the new Swift 3 OLED 12th Gen Intel Core H-series processors, with the base model coming with an Intel Core i5-12500H coupled with 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM and a 512GB SSD. Meanwhile the latter model has an Intel Core i7-12700H with 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM and a 1TB SSD. Both configurations will be powered by Intel Iris Xe integrated graphics. Meanwhile the backlit keyboard uses an air inlet design for 10% more heat dissipation compared to regular keyboard designs.

Elsewhere, there is a 57Wh battery supporting 100W charging with up to 8 hours of battery life, an FHD webcam, stereo speakers tuned by DTS Audio and a fingerprint reader on the power key. It also comes with support for WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2. In terms of I/O, you’re getting two USB-C 4 ports, two USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 ports, an HDMI 2.1 port and a 3.5mm audio jack. They come in one colour, Steel Grey.
