Acer Launches Swift 3 OLED & Aspire 7, Packed With Views
Acer Malaysia has announced the launch of two updated models with specific upgrades – the Acer Swift 3 OLED and Acer Aspire 7.
Acer Swift 3 OLED
As the name suggests – this OLED laptop has a 92% screen-to-body ratio display that spans 14 inches, at 16:10 WQXGA+ (2.8K) resolution. The OLED display is capable of a 100% DCI-P3 color gamut and has been certified by VESA as DisplayHDR 500 True Black capable.
In terms of performance, this model can be specified with up to Intel Core i7-12700H, 16GB onboard LPDDR5 RAM and 1TB PCIe NVMe SSD. The chassis measures in at 17.9mm and tips the scales at 1.4kg. Wi-Fi 6E powers connectivity; the FHD webcam on board supports Acer Temporal Noise Reduction (TNR), and the microphone array is powered by Acer PurifiedVoice AI Noise Reduction to improve the quality of remote meetings.
The touchpad, called OceanGlass, is made from ocean-bound plastic waste with a “glass-like tactile feel” to mimic the texture of a normal touchpad. The backlit keyboard provides up to 10% more heat dissipation capacity from an updated design.
The Acer Swift 3 OLED is available on Acer eStore, Shopee and Lazada, price starting from RM4,399.

Powered by Intel Core i5-1240P and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650, the Aspire 7 is aimed at workers on the go with its subtle design cues. The model offers 8GB of DDR4 memory – the two slotted SODIMM form factors that Acer allows upgradeable capacities of a total of 32GB; A 512GB PCIe NVMe SSD and Wi-Fi 6 come standard.
A surprising feature comes from the display, which is a FHD 144Hz panel measuring 15.6 inches with a screen-to-body ratio of 81%. Acer is clearly intent on making this laptop a ‘sleepier’ gaming laptop despite its rather unassuming looks – their Color Intelligence and ExaColor technology are said to work together to deliver accurate visuals for gaming titles ‘fast speed’. On the cooling side of things, Acer gives you the option to switch between different cooling modes – with a single shortcut key Fn + F switching between silent, normal and performance mode.
The Acer Aspire 7 is priced at RM3,899 and is available on Acer eStore, Shopee and Lazada stores.

In line with the upcoming Christmas season, Acer is offering gifts for purchases made before 31 December 2022 – any Swift 3 OLED or Aspire 7 purchases will be eligible to redeem Touch n’ Go eWallet credit of RM120 or RM80 respectively. Other selected products will be offered with RM20, or up to RM200 worth of TnG eWallet credit.
Answer: I’m very surprised that Acer has actually set out to market the Aspire 7 as a gaming laptop and even has the display to match. Someone is going to turn this into a sleeper gaming laptop for sure…
