KOCHI: Ever since they cleared their Class X exams, three girls have had only one dream: A career in the army. In pursuit of their ambition, the three – Neethulekshmi S, 24, of Kollam, Princy P, 29, of Thiruvananthapuram and Amritha Anil, 25, of Kollam – applied for the Armed Forces Selection Commission examination. army.

They work hard and spend sleepless nights preparing for that job. But when they finally cleared the exam and other hurdles, including the physical exam, in 2018, the House put a statement in the will, rejecting their qualifications saying and entered the wrong area code of their home in the application form. However, the three — who met each other during negotiations — were not ready to give up and approached the court.

Although a division bench of the Kerala High Court passed a favorable order in February this year asking the House to appoint them, the trio kept knocking on the doors of the authorities without any response. what happened next. Now, they have moved the HC seeking to initiate contempt proceedings against Union government officials for ignoring its order. Determined to become military personnel, Amritha and Princy delayed their desire to become mothers, despite the encouragement of their in-laws and parents. Neethulekshmi, an MBA graduate, turned down other job offers to pursue her dream.

In July 2018 the Staff Selection Commission notified the vacancies and invited applications from the candidates to join the posts of Constables in Central Police Force, NIA, SSF and Rifleman in Assam Rifles , police forces and armed forces.

The error has no impact on the selection process, the consultant said

Neethulekshmi, Princy and Amritha have passed various tests, including physical tests after intense training. The nomination was rejected because “the area code does not match the residential area”.

According to their counsel G Krishnakumar, the error does not affect the selection process as the local government has jurisdiction. Citing an order of the Supreme Court, he said that there is no concept of independence for the states, and they can only live in the state.

Neethulekshmi said that though Kollam is her native region, she mentioned Thrissur in the application form as her family lives there as part of her mother’s work. “My dream is to wear the uniform of the main police force. I worked hard to achieve this and in 2018, I cleared all exams. However, for the past three years, I have been involved in a legal battle to achieve my dream,” said Neethulekshmi. Princy and Amritha also made similar mistakes when entering the area code. “It was a mistake,” said Princy. Four years ago she married and wanted to be a mother waiting for this job. training, it affects my work,” he said.

Amritha said that although she had cleared the exam in 2014, she failed the medical exam. Amritha said that in 2018, she overcame all odds, but a small, irrelevant mistake in selection ruined her dreams. “The authorities pointed out the mistake in the last stage. We believe in the judicial system and hope that the final decision will be in our favor,” said Amritha.

While issuing an order to appoint them in February, the HC panel said that the candidates had passed all the hurdles in the selection process and at the last stage they were rejected. their application by mistakenly entering the area code. . However, the Center approached the Supreme Court challenging the HC’s order to appoint them within a month, which is still pending.
