Miami – A dispute over a PlayStation account led to a shooting in Miami’s Wynwood neighborhood on Friday, police said.
Javon Knight, 23, who goes by the street name “Jit,” shot his neighbor in the 500 block of Northwest 33rd Street just before 5 p.m., according to an arrest report.
A neighbor told police he came home after his live-in girlfriend alerted him to an argument between Knight and an unidentified witness over an account.
“The victim was asked by his girlfriend to return home as (Knight) threatened to fight the witness,” according to a police report.
As the victim pulled into his driveway, Knight began arguing with him from the street, police wrote.
Police said the victim told Knight, “Tell me what you want, just hang in there.”
Knight responded: “I got something for you,” police said.
Officers wrote that the suspect in the Knight case then got into Tiana Ella Shade’s car and drove toward the victim.
Knight got out of his car with an AK-47, pointed it at the victim, then pulled out his own gun in self-defense and shot Knight, police said.
The victim was shot in the left ankle, and the witness corroborated his story, police wrote.
Police wrote that Knight “appeared to be intoxicated” and was “acting erratically” when police took him into custody.
Knight is facing charges of attempted murder and resisting arrest.
