2 fatal shootings, 2 hours apart in nearby Jacksonville neighborhoods | Media Pyro

Jacksonville, Fla. – The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is investigating two separate shootings that occurred within two hours of Sunday morning.

Jacksonville has had 136 homicides so far this year, up from a total of 128 in 2021, according to JSO.

The first shooting happened just before 2 a.m. in the 1600 block of Myrtle Avenue.

Two more fatal shootings added to an already violent year. JSO is investigating both shootings and we will update you as soon as we have more information.

A man was found behind a home with at least one fatal gunshot wound, according to JSO.

Then, around 4 a.m., a man was found dead in the street with a gunshot wound, JSO said.

The man, who was shot at least once, is aged between 50 and 60, police said.

The two shootings occurred less than two miles from each other, but the JSO said they are not related.

No suspect information has been released.
