Two Queens men have pleaded guilty to the fatal shootings of two men in South Richmond Hill in late 2017 and early 2018, Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz said.

Richard Davenport, 46, of 139th Street, Jamaica, and Neville Brown, 42, of 197th Street, Hollis, pleaded guilty Nov. 14 before Queens Supreme Court Justice Michael Alois to two counts of first-degree murder. Davenport was sentenced to 29 years in prison and Brown was sentenced to 15 years.

At 3 a.m. on Dec. 19, 2017, Brown was behind the wheel of a Mercedes-Benz and Davenport was the sole passenger when he repeatedly drove over a Cadillac Escalade parked on 125th Street near Atlantic Avenue. Home across from Phil Rizzuto Park in South Richmond Hill. Security camera video showed the suspect parking the Mercedes, exiting the vehicle and approaching the Escalade from the opposite direction. Davenport is then seen firing multiple shots into the vehicle, 21-year-old Dale Rameser, before they flee the scene. EMS responded to the crime scene and transported Ramesar to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Also, according to the charges, security video shows the same Mercedes-Benz stopped on 105th Street near 135th Avenue in South Richmond Hill on the night of January 16, 2018. He walked down 135th Avenue. Davenport fired several shots, hitting Morrison several times in the body. EMS responded to the crime scene and transported Morrison to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Ballistics tests showed that shell casings recovered from the January 2018 shooting matched those recovered from the December 2017 crime scene.

“The scourge of gun violence that has brought heartache and grief to our communities will never be forgiven,” Katz said. “My office will continue our relentless pursuit of justice for the victims, no matter how long it takes. By pleading guilty, the two accused took responsibility for taking the lives of the two youths and served lengthy prison sentences.

Davenport was sentenced by Justice Aloys on January 12 and Brown on January 13.
