In this episode, I welcome Laurette Mulry, Attorney at Law at the Suffolk County Legal Aid Society, to talk about working with different clients as a legal aid attorney. Laurette breaks down the principles that have guided her when working with clients, as well as her advice to those in the legal profession who need a lot of attention and time. He also explains what it’s like to be a paralegal, including his most memorable award throughout his career.
The Jabot podcast is an offshoot of the Above the Law brand that focuses on the challenges women, people of color, LGBTQIA, and other diverse populations face in the legal profession. Our name comes from none other than the Notorious Ruth Bader Ginsburg and the jabot (decorative necklace) she wore while delivering impeachments from the floor. It’s a reminder that even if we don’t win, we can still think.
Happy listening!
