A 36-year-old man has been arrested for a security breach at Bengaluru’s HAL airport just two days before Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the state on November 11.

The arrested person is identified as Mukunda Khaund, a native of Assam and has been booked under the Indian Official Secrets Act 1923 and other relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code. He was found hiding near a trolley gate inside the defense complex, when security personnel found him at around 12.50am on November 9.

He was taken to the control room to examine the CCTV footage and it was found that he had tried to scale the airport wall near the NO tower twice. 3 then managed to get in through the trolley door.

When Mukund was asked, he said he was working as a mason in Assam and came to Bengaluru on November 6 after an argument with his wife. It is said that he was looking for work and entered the stadium here with the intention of stealing metal.

Few reports say that the accused was with his friend’s wife. On the day of the incident, she did not allow him to enter the house, as he was in an agitated state.

Meanwhile, it was gathered that the officials did not take these anti-security actions lightly and ordered the Assam Police to collect all the information about Mukund.
