RENOVO – A Renovo man involved in a shooting incident was arrested Thursday on multiple charges.
Clinton County District Attorney Dave Strauss and state police in Lamar issued a joint press release announcing the arrest of Shawn Jason Wadsworth, 42, of 5th Street, Renovo, on one count of aggravated assault, a first-degree felony, and a felony. Aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a felony of the second degree.
Wadsworth was immediately taken into custody following the shooting at 129 5th Street in Renovo Borough on Wednesday evening around 4:40 p.m. Wadsworth allegedly fired an AR-style rifle at the victim, Christopher Clausen, 46, of Gallagher Township, following an argument between the two.
The PSP has been at the scene since the shooting and the investigation is ongoing. Following the shooting, a neighbor called 911 seeking Clausen’s medical attention after hearing her screams for help from a nearby alley. Renovo Borough Police responded immediately and took Wadsworth into custody.
Clausen was taken for medical treatment and remains hospitalized. Wadsworth was sentenced by Magisterial District Justice Frank P. Mills was arraigned and bail was set at $20,000. Wadsworth is being held at the Clinton County Correctional Facility at the time of this release.
Wadsworth will make his first court appearance on Tuesday, Nov. 22 at 8:30 a.m.
