Danville, Va. – The Danville Police Department is investigating a shooting that left one person injured Wednesday night.

Police said they received reports of shots fired in the 100 block of Piney Forest Road around 8:30 p.m.

When they arrived at the scene, officers said they found a man with a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the upper body. He was taken for treatment.

Danville police said a preliminary investigation revealed the suspect and victim met in their vehicles in the parking lot shortly before the shooting.

Danville police said they believe the shooting was an isolated incident. They have not been arrested yet.

Details about the suspect are limited at this time.
