Forest Hills Borough, Pa. – One person is dead in an officer-involved shooting in Forest Hills.

According to Allegheny County 911, police and EMS units were called to the 2300 block of Ardmore Boulevard in Forest Hills at 10:17 a.m. Sunday.

According to Allegheny County Police, the man pulled up his shirt and yelled at people while brandishing a gun.

Two Forest Hills officers located a man on Yost Boulevard near Ardmore Manor Drive. They tried to talk him down, but he started shooting at the officers.

The two officers returned fire and hit him multiple times, police said.

He was rushed to a nearby hospital but was declared dead.

Police said one of the officers’ uniform pants was hit during the shootout. The officer was not injured.

Forest Hills Police have requested investigative assistance from the Allegheny County Police Homicide Unit. The investigation is ongoing and all investigative information will be provided to the Allegheny County District Attorney’s Office for review.
