Charlottesville, Va. (WWBT) – UVA police asked students and staff to shelter in place late Sunday night after a shooting was reported on campus.
UVA police said the shooting occurred in the parking garage behind the Drama Building on Culbreth Road.
Police have not yet said if anyone was injured in the shooting, but they are actively searching for the suspect, identified as Christopher Darnell Jones.
Police believe he is armed and dangerous.
A hotline has been set up at 877-685-4836 for family and friends about the shooting.
