GUWAHATI: A new militant outfit formed in Assam has been mediated by the state police.
A recently formed extremist group that has been moderated is: Adivasi People’s Liberation Army (APLA).
At least nine cadres of the group were arrested by the police from Golaghat and Karbi Anglong districts of Assam.
Arms and ammunition were also recovered from the arrested militants.

The development was confirmed by Special Director General (DG) of Assam Police GP Singh.
“Assam Police eliminated a new group of APLA insurgents from Golaghat and Karbi Anglong in less than four days. Nine cadres have been arrested and weapons have been seized,” said GP Singh.
“We continue to have zero tolerance for violence and groups that claim violence,” he added.
