An FIR has been filed against a private madrasa in Cachar district for allegedly teaching students about racism and ‘jihad’.
The complaint was filed by one Shahab Uddin Khan, alleging that his son Sain Khan, who is an eighth standard student of Madrasa Swadhin Bazar Islamia, was abused by the teachers of the madrasa.
Shahab reported the complaint of Sonai police station against school principal Maulana Abul Hussain Laskar and secretary Dilwar Hussain Mazumdar on November 11, 2022.
Both of them have been detained by the police for questioning.
This student, who spoke to the media, alleged that the teachers used to conduct special lessons at night and teach them about ‘Jihad Thought’.
“They say if they destroy the Hindus, they will get special blessings from God,” said Sain Khan.
The boy, who was injured in the head and chest, mentioned that he has been suffering from conjunctivitis for days and refused to join the special class but “they threatened to kill me”.

“They stroked my head and punched me. I came to my room, he burned the medicine and then locked me in a room,” the student added.
Cachar police chief Numal Mahatta said that the police are investigating the case from all angles, and will also look into the relationship with any jihadist movement.
“We are trying to get enough information, the matter will be thoroughly investigated. The allegations are wrongful arrest and physical assault and we are looking into it,” said Mahatta.
However, the management committee of the madrasa denied the allegations and described them as intentional.
