Karimganj (Assam) [India]November 12, 2013 (HOL) — Assam police arrested a drug dealer in Karimganj district at midnight last night, with a total weight of 1.5 kilograms of Heroin, according to the police.
In an anti-narcotics operation led by the Additional Inspector General of Police (HQ) Karimganj district, a police team seized 1.5 kg of Heroin packed in 117 soap cases in the tri-junction area of Assam. -Mizoram-Tripura, they added.
One of the drug dealers was also arrested for this.
Earlier this month, heroin worth Rs. 5 crore was seized in the same district.
Acting on a tip-off, Karimganj Police launched an operation and seized a vehicle in Ashimganj area under Patharkandi police station on November 2.
“The driver of the car fled the scene during the operation, and during the investigation we found 52 cases of soap containing 676 grams of heroin in the car. The drugs seized in the market are estimated at 5 crore,” Partha said. Pratim. Das, Additional Superintendent of Police Karimganj said.
He also said that the vehicle was coming from Mizoram towards Patharkandi. (ANI)
